Words of Art

by Sandy Arena on 01/16/13

The word of God tells us that "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." Proverbs 18:21

I had a dream the other night that brought this truth into full vision. My dreams often are Bible verses played out in movie form.  It is kind of exciting and I've often said hearing from the Lord in dreams has given the term "night life" a whole new meaning!

Before I went to sleep that night, I asked the Lord to show me how I could love my children, and also the children God has placed temporarily in our care. He loves them more than I do, so He knows best. I asked Him how I could help them step into the plans and destinies He has for their future, which as we know, are good plans! "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

I asked Him for a dream, which I often do before I go to sleep at night!

This was the dream: I was speaking about one of my children on the phone to another person. I was speaking forth positive declarations and attributes of my child. I was saying things like, "He is awesome. He is smart. He is incredible. He is loved. He is cherished." Immediately thereafter I heard my child speaking in the very next room to another person. I confidently heard my child saying, "I am awesome. I am smart. I am incredible. I am loved. I am cherished."

That was it. That was the dream.

I knew when I woke up the simple truth that we, as parents, already know -- that we should speak positive, affirming words into the hearts and souls of our children. Our words should match up with what God's Holy Word says about them and about all of us. 1 Peter 4:11 says, "If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God."

I am thankful for the Bible and the truth of the Living Word. I am thankful for dreams given by the Holy Spirit to shed light on Biblical principals. I am a visual learner, and dreams provide pictures and scenerios of such truths.

Speak the Lord's truth into the lives of your children and loved ones and see their destinies blossom forth!  And if you already do not do so, ask God for a dream before going to sleep at night! Thank you Jesus for loving us and for speaking to us. You are the Good Shepherd and we are Your sheep. We love You and hear Your voice! Amen!

Your words are a blessed reminder Sandy! Philippians 4:8 tells us to meditate on whatever is true, noble, just, pure, lovely, of good report, praiseworthy. What we meditate on will spill out of us in our words to our children and others. And yes on the dreams! God has blessed me with many over the years, many prophetic! And once, when I asked for it, God blessed me with a dream of my son who had recently gone to Heaven. The dream was like a visit with my son and it blessed my heart so much! Blessings on you Sandy!

Della what an incredible gift to have seen your son. I love that verse you quoted too. I have a song for that and I need to record it. Its so much easier to remember scripture when it's put to a song! Well, at lease for me it is!!! Hugs to you Della! Thanks for reading my blog posts lol!
